About

I was lucky to be brought up in an artistic family and art has always been an important part of my life. Having specialised in Art and Drama at Westminster College of Education, Oxford, I followed a career in teaching.

After moving from London to North Hampshire, with my husband and three daughters, I joined watercolour classes and then went on to study Visual Art at Winchester School of Art.

The natural world is my main inspiration. I live in a beautiful part of North Hampshire where I have a light and spacious studio in which I can work, exhibit and teach. I mainly work in watercolours but more recently have explored lino printing, mixed media and collage.

I participate in the North Hampshire and West Berkshire Open Studios scheme and have exhibited in the John Soane Museum, London, The Lyme Bay Arts Gallery, Bridport, the Winchester Guildhall, Marlborough Town Hall, East Woodhay Artex and many other mixed exhibitions.

I accept commissions to paint dog portraits and house portraits. A speciality of mine is to compose a painting featuring a house, church or school surrounded by cameo views of the garden or local landscape. These paintings make very good birthday, Christmas, ‘special occasion’ or retirement presents. I also enjoy creating bespoke anniversary paintings and children’s name paintings, examples of which can be seen in my gallery here. I turn a lot of my work into greetings cards.
